The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a French central government agency (ODAC) for scientific research in the fields of energy, defense, information and communication technologies, materials science, life sciences and health, located on ten sites in France.

The DLR is Germany's Aerospace Research Centre. In its core areas of expertise, the DLR develops technologies for aeronautics and space, energy and transportation, as well as security and defense research. A wide range of results and innovations benefit industry and businesses, government and public authorities, and public stakeholders. The DLR fulfills its responsibility to society through intensive knowledge exchange and targeted technology transfer.

Cutting-edge research on defense technologies and security. ISL is a binational research institute, jointly managed by the French Defense Innovation Agency (AID) and the German Federal Ministry of Defense. ISL's objectives are defined by the ministries of the two nations that support it: the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) on behalf of the French Ministry of Defense, and the BAAINBw (Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support of the Bundeswehr) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Defense.
